Forensic transparency down to thread and glue — every Covelle material disclosed, certified, and traceable. We don't sell the cover. We disclose the core stack: frame, barrier, support, comfort, upholstery. Every component independently certified. Every ingredient verified against our exclusions list.

What touches your skin is tested against 350+ harmful substances.
The fabric your family touches every day. Independently tested against 350+ regulated substances, including phthalates, heavy metals, formaldehyde, and pesticide residues. No PFAS. No antimicrobial treatments. No synthetic stain coatings.
Our upholstery is certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100, which tests the finished product, not just raw materials. Every dye, finish, and treatment in the final fabric has been verified for safety at the strictest consumer threshold available for textiles.
Conventional upholstery fabrics are often treated with PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) for stain resistance, antimicrobial chemical finishes, and synthetic dyes with undisclosed chemical profiles. None of those exist in our fabric.
Your skin is your largest organ. Children absorb chemicals through skin contact at a higher rate than adults. The fabric that touches your family has been cleared at the most protective textile safety standard in the world.
OEKO-TEX Standard 100 is administered by the International Association for Research and Testing in the Field of Textile Ecology. Testing covers over 350 substances regulated for consumer products, including allergenic dyes, chlorinated phenols, organotin compounds, and heavy metals.

Inherent flame resistance without chemical treatments. Naturally breathable.
GOTS-certified Joma Wool that meets federal flammability standards (16 CFR 1633) without a single chemical flame retardant. Wool's keratin protein structure chars rather than melts, self-extinguishes, and produces no toxic fumes.
Federal law requires furniture to resist open-flame ignition. Most manufacturers meet this by applying chemical flame retardants such as organophosphate esters, chlorinated tris, or antimony trioxide directly to foam and fabric. These compounds are among the most studied endocrine disruptors in household furnishings. They migrate out of foam, bind to household dust, and are ingested through hand-to-mouth contact, particularly by children.
Wool does the same job through molecular structure, not chemistry. It breathes, regulates temperature, and does the job that toxic coatings pretend to do.
GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) verifies the entire supply chain from raw fiber to finished product: organic status, environmental processing, social compliance, and quality assurance. Our wool carries GOTS certification at the finished-product level, not just the raw-fiber level.

Replaces petroleum-based polyurethane foam entirely.
4-inch GOLS-certified organic latex core, tapped from rubber tree plantations in Sri Lanka. This is what replaces the petroleum-based polyurethane foam found in virtually every sofa under $10,000, and most above it.
Polyurethane foam, the comfort material in nearly every conventional sofa, is a petroleum derivative that off-gasses volatile organic compounds including toluene, benzene, and formaldehyde for months to years. It is also the primary carrier for chemical flame retardants. Organic latex replaces all of it.
Latex is naturally antimicrobial, naturally dust-mite resistant, and naturally hypoallergenic, without chemical additives. It is also dramatically more durable: where polyurethane foam compresses and degrades within 3 to 5 years, organic latex maintains its resilience for 15 to 20 years. The sofa will not sag. The cushions will not flatten. The material will not decompose into the compounds it was made from.
GOLS (Global Organic Latex Standard) requires at least 95% certified organic raw material and covers plantation practices, processing standards, worker welfare, and the final product. Our latex is GOLS-certified at every stage: plantation, processing facility, and finished component.

61% plant-derived polyols. The invisible layer most brands never disclose.
The layer most brands pretend does not exist. Verid Bio-Core is a high-resilience support foam made with 61% plant-derived polyols, CertiPUR-US certified for emissions and content. We disclose it because disclosure is the point.
We are transparent about what this layer is and what it is not. It is not 100% natural. No structural support foam is, regardless of what any brand claims. What it is: the lowest-emission, highest-plant-content support foam available, independently tested and certified.
CertiPUR-US verifies it is made without ozone depleters, PBDE flame retardants, mercury, lead, formaldehyde, or phthalates, and that total VOC emissions are below 0.5 parts per million.
We consider CertiPUR-US a baseline certification. Every other layer in our sofa exceeds it. But every layer deserves verification, especially the one most brands hide.

Kiln-dried. Mortise-and-tenon joinery. No formaldehyde adhesives.
FSC-certified kiln-dried hardwood, joined with mortise-and-tenon joinery. No particle board, no plywood, no MDF, no formaldehyde-based adhesives. The skeleton you never see is built to outlast the sofa itself. Lifetime warranty.
Most furniture frames, including many in the $3,000 to $8,000 range, use engineered wood products bonded with urea-formaldehyde or phenol-formaldehyde adhesives. These adhesives off-gas formaldehyde (a Group 1 carcinogen) for years. They are also the reason expensive furniture falls apart: engineered wood loses structural integrity when adhesives degrade.
Kiln-dried hardwood with mortise-and-tenon joinery does not rely on adhesives for structural integrity. The joint itself carries the load. That is why we offer a lifetime frame warranty.
FSC Chain-of-Custody tracks our wood from responsibly managed forests through every stage of processing to the finished frame: sustainable forestry practices, chain-of-custody integrity, and legal compliance at every transfer point.

The invisible layer that matters most.
Adhesives and finishes are the hidden source of VOCs in furniture. These volatile compounds degrade indoor air quality for years. Every adhesive and finish in a Covelle is water-based and independently tested to register zero detectable VOC emissions. What you cannot see is just as important as what you can.
Six certifications from six independent organizations. Each tests different properties. Together, they cover every material and every exposure pathway.
Hardwood frames are built with lumber from FSC-certified suppliers. Chain-of-Custody certifications are held at the supplier level by Martco / RoyOMartin (FSC-C022036, Louisiana, valid to 2027-04-13) and Boss Wood Products (FSC-C190932, Brazil, valid to 2028-08-21). Both are verifiable in the FSC public database.
